Cleansing with chlorophyll

liquid chlorophyll

Dearest readers,

I like doing research and finding natural remedies for the many challenges that face us in daily life. My son just left for a semester abroad in Ecuador. He has been studying in Finland for the last year and a half. Every time we move to a new environment, our body must quickly make complex shifts in our entire system in order to adapt.

Quito, Ecuador is a beautiful, post-colonial city perched in the foothills of the Andes mountains at 9,350 feet in altitude. Helsinki, Finland is an equally gorgeous neo-classical/art deco and modern European city located on the Gulf of Finland at a mere 56 feet or 19 meters in altitude. This is a pretty extreme contrast and challenge for the human body, even for a 19 year old young man who is in pretty great shape physically!

My research revealed that high altitude causes the blood to thicken as the amount of oxygen in the air thins. Liquid chlorophyll supplements are generally not the natural form (chlorophyll a or b) but a semi-synthetic form called chlorophyllin in which the magnesium ring in the center of the molecular chain is replaced by copper, making the substance water soluble. Chlorophyll acts in the bone marrow to stimulate red blood cell production and is in some ways similar to hemoglobin. So the blood of plants is a cousin to our own primary bodily fluid! Liquid chlorophyll supplements are used to treat a variety of conditions, but altitude sickness is one of the primary applications.

Generally lightly mint flavored, liquid chlorophyll creates a dark green beverage when added to plain filtered or mineral water. Best consumed on an empty stomach before bed-time and/or early in the morning, liquid chlorophyll has many benefits for the  human body. I have observed several myself, as I always experiment with supplements on my own body before recommending them to others.

I have noticed the following improvements in my own health since starting to use liquid chlorophyll:

  1. Improved digestion and bowel movements.
  2. Significant improvement of oral thrush condition, even when consuming some sugars and starch.
  3. Significant reduction of itching in scalp, even after an entire week of not washing hair.
  4. Weight loss without modification of diet, especially around waist area.
  5. Feeling energetic, even with little sleep.
  6. Reduction of aches and pains caused when eating inflammatory foods such as gluten and carbohydrates.
  7. Brighter coloration of fingernails, suggesting improved blood circulation.
  8. Reduction of peripheral neuropathy and leg pain caused by electrolyte imbalance.

My son did experience loose stools after consuming the liquid chlorophyll supplement, so dosages should be adjusted accordingly. I think it can make an excellent mouthwash as well, though it will temporarily make your tongue turn green. Many people use liquid chlorophyll as a natural deodorant, since it detoxes the body and cleanses the blood, flushing out and reducing overgrowth of bacteria and fungi. Some claim that chlorophyll alkalizes the body and works to combat aflatoxins that can cause allergies and liver damage as well as preventing cancer.
